Memory, SO-DIMM Installation

Instructions

Follow the instructions in this sheet carefully. Failure to follow these instructions could

damage your equipment and void its warranty.

Note:

This computer uses double-data rate (DDR) memory. Memory from previous iMac

models is not compatible with this computer. Do not use older SO-DIMMs even if they fit

into the slot. Memory used in this slot should be low-proﬁle PC2100 (DDR266) SO-

DIMM for the 17-inch 1 GHz and PC2700 (DDR333) for the iMac (USB 2.0) models.

Tools Required

• #1 Phillips screwdriver

• Soft cloth

Opening the Computer

Warning: Always shut down your computer before opening it to avoid damaging its

internal components or causing injury.

1. Unplug all cables from the computer except the power cord.

2. Supporting the neck and the base, lay the computer down on a soft cloth as shown in

Figure 1.
